Upcoming Event Calendar
We offer this program as a respite for the business and stresses of life. Take a journey with us and, surrounded by candlelight, allow your mind, body and soul to relax. Our program spans hundreds of years and features some of the oldest chants in the Christian Church, texts from the Monastic Office of Compline, sacred motets from several of the masters of polyphony, as well as pieces by contemporary composers. Whether it is cry of joy, a plea for mercy, a song of justice or a longing for the world to come, the thread throughout the program is that of shelter, of safety, of rest…
Join us for the weekend to learn more about the Sisters of St. Margaret and what a life in our community looks like. Ask questions, watch our day-to-day activities and experience our life. If you are considering a religious life in a community committed to a life of prayer and service then this would be a great opportunity for you.
To register to spend the weekend of June 1-3 with us, reach out to Sr. Carolyn in one of the ways below.

Please join us for our annual celebration of St. Margaret’s Day on July 20th, 2018. Our preacher for Holy Eucharist this year will be the Rev. Dante Tavolaro, a Priest Associate currently serving as Curate at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Greenwich, RI. A reception will follow in the Convent.
The offering collected at St. Margaret’s Day this year will be designated for our ongoing efforts to recruit new Sisters and Associates. We are intensifying our vocations program here in Duxbury and will be offering a series of Explore, Connect, Discover events for those interested in to come, meet us, and see what our lives are like. In addition, we continue our work to make the Society more widely known. As part of this effort, we will have a booth at General Convention in Austin this year which gives us an unparalleled opportunity to meet new people and reconnect with old friends. Our Sisters continue to be present at Parish and Diocesan events throughout the Episcopal Church, offering Quiet Days and Retreats as well as appearing at forums and other events. We appreciate your financial and prayerful support as we work to ensure the Society can continue a vigorous life of mission and service well into the future. If you would like to make a donation in advance, please feel free to use our convenient online donation portal.
The Sisters of St. Margaret will hold The Gathering August 31st – Sept. 6th. The normal schedule of services will be suspended and the campus will be closed to guests during this time as the Sisters have their annual gathering. The Gathering provides an opportunity for the Sisters to meet together informally and it is a time to catch up on the news from the mission houses as well as conduct some business. All the Sisters will meet in Duxbury, The Mother House, and will be coming from NYC, Dorchester and Haiti to attend. We look forward to seeing everyone very soon!
On Saturday, September 15th join us for the Feast of the Holy Cross. Choral Eucharist will be at 2pm with lively hymns for everyone followed by an ice cream social. Children are welcome.
Please join us for Contemplation & Candlelight on October 28th at 7pm. Please note we will be using part of the Litany for an End to Gun Violence written by the Rt. Rev. Stephen T. Lane Episcopal Bishop of Maine, alt. in this service as well as prayers to honor those who lost their lives in the Tree of Life Synagogue massacre.
Please join us for this service of prayer and song. We’ll be led by the women of the Schola. As always, we welcome all. Join us.
