Our door is always open to those who are seeking God’s will in their life. We are always ready to share our life with those who seek to come closer to God, and we invite others to join us. Entrance into Religious life is a gradual process of study and discernment between both the aspirant and the community. Although our life can be difficult, as in other ways of life, for those who are called it is the only choice.
Women enter the Society as postulants and, after a period of six months, they may become novices. The Mother House in Duxbury is where initial training as a novice takes place. The novitiate is for two to three years, after which a novice makes an annual Profession of Vows. Life Profession may come after a further three to five years.
We welcome inquiries from women looking to join a community committed to a life of prayer and service. The process of becoming a Sister begins with a letter, email or phone call and continues through the entirety of a Sister’s life.
Becoming a Sister of St. Margaret does not happen overnight, and it is not for everybody. Our life can be difficult, and more come to try our life than stay. Applicants should be free of obligation, between the ages of 21 and 45, and a member of the Episcopal Church for at least two years. If our way of living the Christian life sounds interesting to you or you would like more information on life in our community, please contact:
