Sr. Kristina Frances is currently in Austin, Texas for the Episcopal Latino Ministry Competency Course. The intensive 9-day course takes place at the Seminary of the Southwest from June 18th-27th.

Rev. Canon Anthony Guillén, Episcopal Church Missioner for Latino/Hispanic Ministries says “The purpose of Episcopal Latino Ministry Competency course is to provide a hands-on, cultural competency of the history, culture, socio-demographic, and religious aspects of the Latinos/Hispanics in the United States.”

We are pleased to have Sr. Kristina Frances attending the first Episcopal Latino Ministty Competency course in Austin and we are very grateful for the scholarship they were able to give her which allowed her to go. The Society of St. Margaret has had a presence in North Carolina for many years and have spent part of each summer over the last decade working with the Latino/Hispanic community in Wilson, North Carolina.  Our current work with St. Mark’s La Guadalupana in Wilson is focused on a summer program for children which currently has more than 100 children enrolled. This work is very important but the parish is not highly resourced. We currently self-fund our work in North Carolina and would welcome others to partner with us. If you are interested in donating to this cause and the expenses incurred with our work in North Carolina, please visit our donation page. We thank you in advance for anything you’re able to give.
